Important Notice: Futurity Code of Conduct / Terms and Conditions

Attendance at Futurity Events whether as an exhibitor, representative, associate or a spectator is expressly subject to acceptance of this Futurity Code of Conduct/Terms and Conditions, the rules and regulations of British Breeding in respect of the relevant Event and the rules and regulations of the Futurity Event venue. The Futurity is a showcase of the best of British equine breeding. It is designed to benefit not only individual entrants but also the reputation of British equine breeding as a whole. British Breeding expects all exhibitors, representatives, associates and spectators to conduct themselves in a proper manner, to ensure that this reputation is upheld, that horses are properly taken care of throughout the event and that those attending benefit from a positive experience in the true spirit of fair competition and are not placed in danger.

Permission to enter or remain within the Futurity Event venue is at the absolute discretion of British Breeding, Futurity Event staff and authorised officials.

Exhibitor Conduct – exhibitors have a duty both to their horses and to others to make licensed events friendly and welcoming, and are expected to be co-operative and above all create a safe environment for all to enjoy their time at licensed events.

Sportsmanship – exhibitors, representatives, associates and spectators should conduct themselves at all times in an appropriate manner and should display good manners and respect towards other participants, and show officials.

Abusive or aggressive behaviour - Threatening, abusive, aggressive or violent behaviour and foul or abusive language is strictly forbidden towards anyone at the Event – including vets, evaluators exhibitors, spectators, other participants, event management or other officials and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Harassment - No-one should be subject to intimidation or made to feel alarmed or distressed or put in fear of reprisal. Harassment may be defined as causing alarm , distress and anxiety, fear of physical violence or other threat, offensive statements, verbal abuse and threats. As such conduct may involve a criminal offence the police may be involved and it may be that the Futurity will delay any action pending the outcome of such investigation and/or prosecution.

Mobile phones – Exhibitors, representatives, associates and spectators must ensure that mobile phones are used discreetly.

Photography - Photography is only permitted from the ringside and for personal not commercial use. Flash photography is not permitted.

Children – Responsiblity for children remains with the parent or guardian. They must supervise children at all times.

Dogs - Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Some venues may prohibit dogs from certain parts or all of their facilities.

Right to eject

British Breeding reserves absolutely the right to eject from the Futurity Event any individual failing to comply with this Futurity Code of Conduct/Terms and Conditions or whose presence at the Event could reasonably construed as constituting a source of danger, nuisance or annoyance to any other person. This could lead to further action including, but not limited to, [a ban from attending future Futurity Events unless the individual in question signs an acceptable behaviour agreement or] a complete ban from future Futurity Events.

Exclusion of liability

British Breeding excludes to the maximum extent permitted by any law any liability for loss, injury or damage to persons/property in or around the Futurity Event venue.

EXCEPT IN THE CASE OF DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY OUR NEGLIGENCE OR THAT OF OUR CONTRACTORS OR VOLUNTEERS OR DATA SUPPLIERS AND EXCEPT IN THE CASE OF FRAUDULENT MISREPRESENTATION:IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE TO YOU OR TO ANY OTHER PERSON OR ENTITY, IN ANY MANNER (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) FOR LOSS OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING AT OR IN CONNECTION WITH A FUTURITY EVENT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DIRECT, INDIRECT, ACTUAL, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, LOST INCOME, REVENUE OR PROFITS, LOST OR DAMAGED PROPERTY OR DATA, OR OTHER COMMERCIAL OR ECONOMIC LOSS.
